We sail past the famous Lycian rock tombs and necropolis on to Kaleköy, the ancient castle of Simena, sail over the Sunken City, Tersehane Bay, the old Lycian shipyard and then on to Aperlai Pier. From there it is a 40 minute walk to visit the Ancient City of Aperlai.
Aperlai was founded sometime between the late 4th and early 3rd century BC and sustained a long lifespan of about 1,300 years until the end of the 7th century AD. It was a hugely important city in the Lycian Confederation and is still surrounded by its ancient city walls. Admire the church, chapel and the Roman sarcophagi.
You can swim near the harbour at the ruins of Roman baths, one of the few areas of historical ruins where it is permitted for swimming.
